UNABLE TO EDIT RULES, SUBMIT FILES FOR REVIEW

I installed the firewall three days ago, and am coming to grips with its facilities, selecting Train with Safe Mode. As of last night, files being sent for analysis generate a Network Error message. The network is fine, up & running, all other traffic flows freely.
Today I have looked at the application rules in Network Security Policy - when I try to change them, they revert to their previous state as soon as I close the window; same when I try to remove them.
Makes me wonder what the problem is?

OK, here goes:

  1. 32 bit
  2. XP SP2
  3. Comodo Firewall; Spybot-SD Resident 1.5.0.9; Winpatrol v 11.3.2007; AVG Free 7.5.503; SnoopFree 1.0.7; Privacy Mantra 2.02; Norton CleanSweep
  4. Currently there are 2 files (both mpengine.dll) pending to be sent; attempts are being made regularly, resulting in Network Error messages every time.
  5. I just watch, baffled.
