Explain a bit the rules you use on Network monitor on CPF. It will help to understand if you missed something or do something wrong

My 4 rules set:

1 rule - CPF Auto detect (detect at manual start VNC server)

Application:
C:\Programmi\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe
Specificy a parent:
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

aplly the following criteria:
-general
Action: allow
protocol: TCP / UDP
direction: In/Out
-remote IP:
IP range: 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255
-remote port:
-a port range: 0 - 65535

2 rule - CPF Auto detect (detect at service start)

Application:
C:\Programmi\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe
Specificy a parent:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe

aplly the following criteria:
-general
Action: allow
protocol: TCP / UDP
direction: In/Out
-remote IP:
IP range: 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255
-remote port:
-a port range: 0 - 65535

3 rule - CPF manual config

Application:
C:\Programmi\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe
Specificy a parent:
C:\Programmi\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe

aplly the following criteria:
-general
Action: allow
protocol: TCP
direction: In
-remote IP:
IP range: 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255
-remote port:
-set of port: 5500,5800,5900,5901,443

4 rule - CPF manual config

Application:
C:\Programmi\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe
Specificy a parent:
C:\Programmi\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe

aplly the following criteria:
-general
Action: allow
protocol: TCP
direction: Out
-remote IP:
IP range: 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255
-remote port:
-set of port: 5900,5800,5500,443

…this is all!!!

Ok. I got it.
-First you don’t need the rules #3 and #4.

  • Second. Go at “Security-> Network Monitor”. There you must create the following rule
    Action = Allow
    Protocol = TCP/UDP
    Direction = In
    Source IP = Any
Remote IP = (1) your pc IP if you are behind a router or
    (2) Any if you use a modem; you can also put the IP of your internet
connection but don’t forget to change every time you disconect-reconnect in
Internet. If you put Any you won’t have to do this every time
    Source port = Any
Remote port = A set of ports 5500,5800,5900,5901,443

Then move this rule up, over the default block rule.

ps. I would suggest that you leave Windows firewall acivated because CPF doesn’t stealth the ports that are in the allow rules (only blocks them). With Windows firewall activated they will be stealthed when you don’t use the UltraVNC ;D. And don’t worry it does not impact the performance of the connection or that of the pc.
Hope it helped.

I have set the rule but I haven’t remote access in PC ???
You have suggest 4 me?

The rule #4 is covered by the default allow rule

I know that you don’t have remote acces (I guess you refer at the Remote IP & Remote port ) ;D. It is just the way the CPF works; it sees all in coming connections as connections to a remote adress (remote for the PC that sends the outgoing data)
