ugly pc crash thanks to comodo

i was just playing a short lunch break game of aoe2, when the system unexpectedly crashed. pc speaker beeped, i needed to restart manually. upon restart everything looked fine until comodo started. desktop turned into 8 bit, crash message from comodo came up. send error report didn’t work, i was supposed to send a file “cfp.zip” myself. well, no such file found on my harddisk.

programs running:
aoe2 (in use)
firefox 3.6.10 (in background)
foobar2000 (in background)
windows explorer (in background)
cpuid (in background)
avg free (in background)

please help, and tell me if there are some known issues old games vs. comodo. aoe2 is a trusted program in comodo.

i was trying to post this post before, but comodoforums seemed to be down. comodo crashes upon every restart of my pc now, and resets graphics to 8 bit. still, no crash report can be send, error message when i want to see the message myself.

We would very much appreciate it if you would edit your first post to create an issue report in line with the bug forum guidelines and format here. You can copy and paste the format from this topic.

To understand the reasons why we ask you to follow these guidelines please see below.

WHY WE ASK YOU TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES
Bugs/issues can be impossible or very time consuming to fix if developers don’t have enough information to reproduce them. Since CIS is free, development time is limited. So if you want your issue fixed, please use the format below to describe it.

To avoid clutter, issues not described in the format below your post will not be moved to the ‘moderator verified’ issues topic. This means that the developers may not look at it.

Best wishes and many thanks in anticipation

Dennis

I would recommend that you add the applications that you use to the firewall.

If it asks you how the program/application should be treated then press “treat as” and the select “trusted application”. I assume you’re using CIS 2011

Valentin

Just a quick reminder that we would very much appreciate it if you would edit your first post to create an issue report in line with the bug forum guidelines and format here. You can copy and paste the format from this topic.

Unfortunately we do need this issue to be reported in the right format, and with all the information we have asked for, if we are to forward it to verified issues.

For the moment I am going to move it to the Orphaned/Resolved child board. If you do edit your post to create a complete issue report in standard format, and PM an active mod, we will of course consider moving it to verified reports.

The devs only look at the Orphaned/Resolved board if they have time, so please do edit the post and PM an active mod if you want it fixed.

i was away for a couple of days and not online, sorry. since i lack some of the important information needed, i will just wait if this happens again. a cold start was problem-free, and i just hope it stays that way.

best regards

Please post in this topic when you have the information needed, and the topic will moved by a Moderator.

We do check these topics for new post, so if the problem does recur please do post.

Thank you
