Turning off CAVS to run antispyware program

Is it a good idea to turn off CAVS while scanning with an antispyware program? Using DiskAction2 I noticed that CAVS was using more resources than the antispyware program. I figure that the antispyware scan will run faster. I can turn CAVS back on when I’m done.

Yes it is recommended to turn off other scanners when scanning, as it will cause them to also scan the files what the other scanner is scanning (try saying that when drunk) ;D.

Also, if both scanners detected a file as malware they may ‘fight’ over who tries to quarantine and cause the computer to lockup.

Or you can just disable “on access scanner”
