Still doesn’t include Blizzard Entertainment, Steam , or Valve

For some odd reason they wont include games :stuck_out_tongue:

They really should include games in my opinion, also I noticed Asus are not in there (but I’m sure the list will grow in time) which is why I get a bit of FP.

This one has to change. People playing games have enough troubles setting up Defense+ and Firewall properly and now when Sandbox is going live… rotfl

As for tracking games, I can understand that they don’t put them on white list, but why Comodo is ignoring those game developers/producers which digitally sign their apps is beyond me.

Has the issue with “File #2 at line #1236 encountered error 0x00000057” in the dberr.txt file been fixed with the Trusted Vendors list?

They will at least add one game vendor (Microsoft LIVE Gaming for Windows). :stuck_out_tongue:

I read somewhere here that they don’t include games as some games have a loader/activator etc. Its not prudent to trust stuff like that, in-spite of the fact that it might’ve been made by the same company. I am not putting this well, but that was the reason I gathered.

As far as the trusted vendors lists go, its nice but there should’ve been 3 tabs

  1. OS = Comodo + Microsoft.
  2. Comodo “EasyUsability” - all vendors added by comodo staff.
  3. User = added by user himself.

Also there should be 3 options (trust 1+2, trust 1+3, trust 1+2+3). I so wish comodo enhanced D+ rather than going after a sandbox. If D+ was open source, id sure as hell hire some peeps to enhance it. :a0

Maybe, but Asus is not a gaming company. They produce and sell hardware (motherboards, video cards, etc.). They should definitely be included in the list.

Fortinet Technologies - http://www.forticlient.com/
IKARUS Software GmbH - http://www.ikarus-software.at/
SANDBOXIE L.T.D - http://www.sandboxie.com/

There’s quite a few there that I’ll be getting rid of.

I wish they were all Disabled by default, and that the only time they were Enabled was when you select it on a Alert…

The Alert should say something like:

This program has a valid Digital Certificate that is Trusted by Comodo, would you like to white-list this vendor now? Doing so will disable all Alerts initiated by software produced by this vendor, as long as the programs are Digitally Signed.

Emotum Pty Ltd - http://www.emotum.com/
Fengtao Software Inc. - http://www.dvdfab.com/
Ghisler Software GmbH - http://www.ghisler.com/
SHANGHAI ZHONGYUAN NETWORKS LIMITED - http://dl.pps.tv/
Tencent Technology(Shenzhen) Company Limited - http://www.imqq.com/

That is one thing there going to need to work on (white-listing games) because that’s a main activity that people like to do on the computer. I’d call the software company and find some common denominators

That would defeat the whole purpose of the list which is to prevent ANY popups or alerts from software produced by known safe vendors. I wish the list was larger and only allowed manual additions, not deletions. They also need to change their position on games and include the known safe vendors of them as well.

What is the problem about gaming company’s? Why comodo don’t add them?

Good question–and one that I have yet to see a reasonable answer to.

Maybe if we push it enough, as there is clearly enough wanting/demanding this, then the big known game makers will be put on the trusted list. And all other smaller/unknown can be submitted through a stickied thread like we do with trusted vendors/apps.

That sounds great in theory, but some “known safe vendors” like to produce Spyware.

Are you aware of any of these that are already included in Comodo’s Trusted Vendors list.
