treat as trusted application otion has disappeared

when I got warnings from comodo it used to have a ‘treat as trusted application’ option, however now it only gives me as treat as installer… how do i get the trusted application back?

It depends on the application & your settings.

If you are installing an application, Then you will “Treat application as installer/updater”. If an application is installed and you wish to run it (As long as it’s safe), The option for Trusted should be back.

unfortunately it does not give me the option in any circumstance…the only otion i get is treat as installer, do I have to reinstall the firewall?

If it did work before, and you didn’t change anything, Then yes a re install could fix a corrupted installation.

Greetings!

If you go to Defense+ → Advanced → Predefined Security Policies, is there an entry named ‘Trusted Application’ there?

it says ‘there are no items to show’…

Then it has been removed somehow…
Anyways, you can reinstall it, but it’s much easier to just create a new predefined policy.
Just click ‘Add…’ to the right and name it ‘Trusted Application’, and for access rights, you should have everything set to ‘Allow’, except for ‘Run an executable’, that you can’t, so leave it at ‘Ask’. Now click ‘Apply’ and it should be back.

tried the above but the option is still not there…think I’ll go for a reinstall… do i have to remove comodo first?

Yes, you’ll have to uninstall it. You should export your configuration by going to Miscellaneous → Manage My Configurations. Then export the one with a check-mark next to it. Save it on the desktop or something, and name it whatever you want to.
Now run the uninstaller, and then install the latest version.
