Too Many Redirects

I don’t know if this has been posted before, but I have a problem where Comodo Dragon and IceDragon regularly when doing searches in Google give an error message for “too many redirects”.

I’ve now attempted various solutions I could find on the internet, none of which resolves this issue. If I paste that search string into Google on Internet Explorer it works. Copy and paste back in Dragon, I get a message “too many redirects”.

This is becoming more and more irritating and although I’m a huge fan of Comodo Dragon and IceDragon, and always telling my friends to use the Comodo browsers, I find myself using Internet Explorer again more and more. I would really like to know why this happens and how to resolve it.

Hi schencpa, welcome to the forums.

The error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS) occurs when a browser detects that it is unlikely to ever reach the intended destination, usually because of a repeating redirect loop. In my own experience, the reason why this seems to work in MSIE and not in other browsers (such as Chrome, Firefox, etc…) is often down to cookies or scripting being disabled by an add-on.

Although it seems that the browser is at fault the problem is always down to site-side coding problems, almost always involving coding that specifically performs action for individual browsers that the code identifies. However, the actual cause can vary greatly. Take a quick look at this Chromium issues page to get an idea.

Can you give some examples of the URL that giving you this issue?

If you have the Enforce secure connection function enabled for google try to turn it off.
