Any idea when the new update and final version of CFP 3 will be out?
Its been i guess a week now since I been using 3.0.14.273 and it works fine for me, I have no bugs or problems with it to report, and its security features works and I have not encountered anything broken or not working right with it and its been 100% stable on my system.

I’ve noticed the new posts have slowed down with the amount of ppl who were experiencing problems with CFP 3. So seems 3.0.14.273 is doing well and has sorted out alot of problems people were having with the initial final build released version.

what changes or new features or improvements can we expect with the next build after 3.0.14.273 ?

Thanks

regards

Ron

Melih’s favourite word.

Patents :D.

He will not tell you what the patents are but he will tell you what the initials of them are :D.

He told us them in a post a while back.

its out!

Melih

Definetely awesome man, you guys must have been really busy because the new release came out quickly after just a week with 3.0.14.273
(:CLP) nice one

Indeed we were…

and now the whole team started on the next level of projects!

Melih

and that would be CAVS 3? :stuck_out_tongue: hehe

So, no more bug fixes?

IMHO CFP V3 still needs some work done to it as does 2.4.

Al

of course we are continuing bug fixes.
but we have a big team… so next versions will have both new features and new bug fixes…

bug fixes is an ever continuing process… there will always be bug fixing

Melih

Hmmmm, I haven’t seen any bug fixes for 2.4 since it went final, but maybe I missed them.

Al

That is because they were working on v3. Can only do so many things at once.

I know where the work was at, I was just replying to Melih’s comment.

Al

I agree with adric :-\

To me it seems that the focus is on developing new products, and not on fixing bugs in the existing ones. Not only to mention CFP 2.4, but CBOClean 4.25 as well. Although I like the Comodo products, and promote them as well, this is realy something I am disapointed about

You seem to be on the right track Rednose. I will be watching closely for new fixes to V3 now that it has gotten to the point where most of the rumbling has died down. Would it not be neat if we could get a bug of the week fix for V3?

That would impress me. ;D

There is nothing wrong with starting development on V3.1 to add new functionality, etc., as long as bugs are still being worked for V3. I guess it would be to much to ask if I included V2.4 and IMHO I don’t think the returns of fixing bugs in V2.4 would be worth the effort. Now, V3 is a different story. Fixes for V3 could still be carried over to V3.1 as long as the new version does not become a total re-write which I doubt it will be.

I vote for more transparent bug tracking too. I think Comodo would make it easier on themselves if they did not only rely on bug reports in the forums or closed tickets that end up who knows where. Maybe this is not the case, but that is the impression I get following the many many posts I have read. Forums are nice, but there is just too much static there and one must really be determined, patient and sometimes obnoxious to get smaller bugs fixed and to some extent find a satisfactory and direct answer.

Would it not be neat if we were able to do a non-forum look up for reported bugs to see fix-team comments regarding the status/solutions of bug issues?

That would impress me. ;D

If it weren’t for the moderators and others helping out in the various forums, I think Comodo would not have as many followers as it does.

Al (am I asking too much?) Adric

Yes, a bug tracking tool is needed. And I can tell you that Melih agrees with that too. But I can’t tell you if they are already working on it.

quotes from adric:

Definitely! would be useful for those who are interested and want to know whats been fixed or changed

Yep, I agree that would be another good and useful idea for people too
