The installation of CBWizard failed.

COMODO BackUp 4.0.6.12
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I keep getting “The installation of CBWizard failed.” every time I try to install. Running the installer as admin doesn’t work either.

Same config : W7 64 bits freshly installed, 8GB ram, Admin rights.

=> same problem “The installation of CBWizard failed”.

=> I’m wondering if this software is really 64bits compliant !

Try the 4.0.7.14 version.
If the error still occurs please post a screenshot and the log(s) in %TEMP%\ComodoLogsFolder

Thanks

I have the same problem with 64bit Windows 7 installation and CB 4.0.7.14 version.

same problem here on windows server 2008 R2

gutted, no fix for this yet?

My guess is that the installation of redistributable pack fails.
Please follow this step to determine the cause of the issue:

  1. uninstall CB
  2. restart computer
  3. install microsoft visual studio 2008 redistributable pack x86 or x64 (you can google it)
  4. install CB (latest version)

Let me know if it works

Thanks

Installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) and reinstalling COMODO BackUp made no difference. I have to click IGNORE to continue the install.

Seconded, installed 2008 C++ redis rebooted and retried installation. I got the exact same error

Does the backup wizard run normally after clicking IGNORE? It should.
You can also try to reinstall and when the error occurs go to install dir and manually run “vcredist.exe” to see if there are any errors.

Thanks

Afraid not, if i click Ignore and allow the installation to complete, i get the following when attempting to run CB:

[Window Title] C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO BackUp\CBWizard.exe

[Content]
C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO BackUp\CBWizard.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

[OK]

Odly, after clicking “OK” on this error, the main software starts - however the wizard does not. If i try to start the wizard manually, the above error occurs again.
