You need to do a complete uninstall before reinstalling. I use Revo Uninstaller in advanced mode. When Comodo says reboot, dont and click next on Revo. Delete the left over program files and registry entries it finds then reboot. Use CCleaner registry cleaner once you are rebooted. Download and install the latest Comodo.

You need to be sure all traces of Comodo are gone before reinstalling. Did you use Revo in Advanced mode? Did you delete all the left over files it found? What other security are you using?

Download Autoruns from Sysinternals
Run it and check the following entries:

Logon

  • Comodo Firewall Pro

Services

  • cmdagent C:\program files\comodo\firewall\cmdagent.exe

Drivers

  • cmdguard c:\windows\system32\cmdguard.sys
  • cmdhlp c:\windows\system32\cmdhlp.sys
  • inspect c:\windows’\system32\inspect.sys

AppInit

  • c:\windows\system32\guard32.dll

They all need to be inplace, see if this gives us a clue.

Couple of other you can try/check.

1.Look under Miscellaneous/Manage my Configurations/Select----->“Comodo Optimum Security” should be greyed out with a tick next to it.
2.Miscellaneous/Diagnostics---->Should check for any conflicting software.
3.When you have installed do you see anything in Defence+/View Defence+ Events?

Can you set the Firewall and Defence+ Security level to Disabled and reboot see if that makes a difference ?

After the restart is still Disabled mode, the other has not changed

Can you post a screenshot of the GUI summary page, and check to see if there is anything in the Logfiles for Firewall or Defence+ ?

Also check your Windows Eventlog’s and see if anything turn’s up there like Warnings or Errors ?
