Yes, you should uninstall CIS AV or if you wish to have two AV’s make sure one is resident and one is on-demand only.

Avira is not better from another anti viruses.I had NOD and Kaspersky,and my Windows crashes…free alvira iz not full version.

I have NOD32.

I had it already on my PC so when I installed CIS I decided to install ONLY the Firewall (and Defense+).

That is the option you should use, that is (if you have COMODO Antivirus installed) uninstall CIS, install your preferred AV, then install CIS choosing to install only the Firewall module. :-TU

D+ is a great tool, And it will only get quieter- Btw. You need it if you want to disable that annoying nag screen from aira free :wink:

Defence + is surely necessary. The point is that these days so much malware gets produced non of the av makers can keep up with that. Even with the help of heuristics and generic signatures. So, other solutions are needed. Behaviour blocking is a strategy but with a classical HIPS like D+ you will catch more undetected malware.

In a recent article on ZD Net it was reported that this spring new malwares saw the light that were not detected anymore by the generic signatures of the av companies across the board: http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9595_22-320602.html .

I hope that shed some light on why you need D+.

I would recommend safe mode for both. You still have the advantage of the white list of trusted programs and the My Trusted Vendors list but get more grip and more alerts. But the white list and My Trusted Vendors list limit the amount.

Only use Clean PC mode when you know your system is free of malware. In this mode it will learn the rules without interrupting but all new executables will be alerted.

It’s a matter of choice.

I think Avira is the best to run alongside comodo FW with defense+. Avira is light and has a very high detection level. If I dont remember wrong Avira 9 free has a spyware feature now.

Defense+ is not so hard to set up. Go to my trusted sofware vendors, add all software you know are safe from your programfiles folder and you will almost have zero pop-ups.
