G’day all. I’m writing to let you know, if you’re having problems with this error message:
“the active configuration format/version seems to have an old format”
that continually appears on boot-up, a simple solution I have found is to uninstall the version 3 and re-install the version 2. I tried and tried to get that particular bug fixed - I had the willing help of a forum expert, for which I am thankful.
In the end, what fixed it for me was getting rid of version 3 and going back to version 2. Nothing else has worked for me. I continue to like Comodo’s firewall, and will happily advocate for people to stay with it. Just not version 3. In my opinion, this version likely has a persistent bug that simply has not been fixed. Version 2 works quite well, and I see no need to try to upgrade without some proof the bug is fixed.
