System Restore unsuccessful due to quarantined files [Issue: #257]

Since installing CIS 5 64bit, System Restore cannot revert the system from within Windows 7 64bit, but only in Safe Mode.

Thanks.

We would very much appreciate it if you would submit your bug report in the format requested here. For the reasons why see below.

Many thanks in anticipation

Ronny

WHY YOU SHOULD FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES
Bugs/issues can be impossible or very time consuming to fix if not well described. Since CIS is free, development time is limited. So if you want your issue fixed, please use the format below to describe it.

Windows Error Message:

"System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer’s system files and settings were not changed.

Details:

System Restore failed while deleting the following file/directory:

Path: C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\Quarantine\clt.exe

An unspecified error occured during System Restore. (0x80004005)"

clt.exe is Comodo Leak Test.

If I try to open the Quarantine folder in C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\Quarantine, access is denied.

In Scanner Settings in CIS 5, “Automatically quarantine threats found during scanning” is enabled.

Thanks for rewriting the report :-TU

This is evidently STILL an issue in CIS 5.12.256249. THREE YEARS after this report.

It’s a fundamental problem denying users the use of an essential recovery tool for which there is no adequate replacement.

If there is a proven workaround which will allow me to do System Restores can somebody please tell me?

Please use the latest version which you may download here.

Yes System Restore does work with the latest version.

Thank you
