System Requirements/Beta time frame

On Comodo’s web site page for Anti Virus Beta 2.0 the Windows system requirements are listed as XP SP2. However in the FAQS for this product the following is specified:-

To ensure optimal performance of Comodo AntiVirus Beta 2.0, your computer should meet the following minimum requirements:

General Requirements:

* 50 MB available space on your hard drive
* 128 MB RAM
* Intel Pentium 300 MHz processor (or equivalent)

Supported Operating Systems:

* Windows XP Home Edition or XP Professional (Service Pack 1 or later)
* Windows 2000 Professional (Service Pack 4 or later):

So which is it?

Also where can I find the version history for CAVS. It seems to be taking a long time for a final release which is a bit surprising given the positive industry and consumer response to the excellent Comodo firewall which demonstrates a proven ability to produce an excellent security product. Sadly, this does not seems to be the case so far with CAVS.

Both website and FAQ’s should state the same:

* Windows XP (SP2) / Windows 2000 (SP4 or later)
* 50 MB available space on your hard drive
* 128 MB RAM
* Intel Pentium 300 MHz processor (or equivalent)

I think it will work on SP1 but it would be better to ensure SP2 is being used.

With regard to a final version the next CAVS version is being worked on as we speak and there should be a new beta for testing this month with any luck. Final version, all going well, should be early next year though a definite date can’t be given as this will be a completely new architecture for CAVS and Comodo will want everything to be perfect before final public release. Note that the firewall went through considerable beta testing before it was released.

You can get an idea of beta versions that have been tested by browsing through posts here:
