How to report False Positives/Suspicious Files & How to Submit them « on: March 05, 2009, 02:10:39 AM »

When you encounter a False Positive (=FP) or a suspicious file please follow these 3 ways so it can be resolved as quickly as possible.

1st way - on the forums (False positives only !)

False Positive

  1. Make a new topic.
  2. Write in the title the program/file that is detected
  3. Provide the name of the FP, for example : Heur.Packed.Unknown
  4. Provide a link to the site of the program
  5. Provide the number of your CIS database

The links for the program are everywhere.
Here it is-> http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Symantec-Norton-Ghost-Download-29350.html
Run on demand scan and you will se the result :))

These 2:

  1. Provide the name of the FP, for example : Heur.Packed.Unknown
  2. Provide the number of your CIS database

Hi bequick,

Can you check the detection again with latest DB 1558.
