Submission of files - larger size limits & better error messages needed [315]


The bug/issue

Result for some files : submission error

manual submission via Menu Antivirus / Submit files

  • it worked fo some files after shortening the filename (and path?)
  • some files seemed to be too big but smaller than 8Mb (worked for some of these files after zipping
  • some files still in error (too big ?)

Yes, I wish CIS was more descriptive about what the error actually is.

Meanwhile, you can report those larger files here if you wish.

I see, seems fine for full applications setup.

Actually the files that the Comodo AV try to submit are .dll and such files found on the hard disk.


Yes, I’m aware of that…

Comodo is already going to have any system .dll’s. Any other .dll’s you have are going to be from software installations.

Please sumbit an example of a file that gives a submission error.

c:\windows\assembly.… (11.2Mb) (16.5Mb) (11Mb)

d:\install_neodivxsuite.exe (13Mb)

There is so much topics in the cis wishlist board that I didn’t know were to post a list of remarks (wishes or improvement requests ?) of what is not clear or/and ergonomic in CIS. Did I have to open (one more) a new topic or post here ?

This issue is valid here I think. It’s a real problem, and you are not suggesting anything outside the design philosophy.
