Stealth ports wizard and Router traffic

I’ve noticed if you use the Wizard to add global rules to stealth ports (option 3), it blocks and logs all the network traffic from your router (eg 224.xxx, 255.xxx etc). It seems this isn’t necessary from a security perspective and prevents standard communication to multicast messages etc.

Is it safe to use option 1 instead and add your routers IP address as a trusted network to allow this communication from a local router address like 192.168.0.1 for example?

I can’t see how allowing communication with the routers IP can be of any danger?

You can allow communication with your router. Routers are atypical targets of hackers so are not a likely risk at the moment.
