startup error: insert password

I have been testing out Comodo Backup (as well as some competitors products). I began testing a few months ago with version 3 (3.0.171317.133 to be precise), and I liked the features that I saw, but other projects came up. When I picked it up again, I noticed a version 4 was available.

I tried to upgrade to version 4, but many of the features I was interested in were no longer available in the free version. (A 30 day trial mode would have been nice.) So I uninstalled, reboot, reinstall 3, reboot.

Now for the problem: whenever I launch Comodo Backup, I get a dialogue box asking: Please insert password to modify settings:

I have no idea what password it wants. And Comodo won’t run without it. Please help.

Hi

This is no longer the case. Version 4 has all the features 3.0 had and it’s free. You can download it here.

If you want to keep 3.0 version you should delete the “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ComodoGroup\ComodoBackup\Settings” registry key.

Thanks

Good to know, thanks. I’m running version 4 now and testing to see if it meets my needs.
