Spybot update

I have just migrated from ZoneAlarm Free to Comodo Firewall.

Everything has gone very smoothly except, so far, I have one query.

It appears as if the Network Monitor blocks the attempts by Spybot to check for updates.

Perhaps someone could advise the best way to allow Spybot to go and do it’s business without letting anyone else do theirs on my machine!

Log entry:
Description: Outbound policy violation (Access denied, ICMP = PORT UNREACHABLE)
Protocol: ICMP Outgoing
Source: []
Destination: 212.217.X.XX [VARIOUS]
Message: PORT UNREACHABLE
Reason: Network Control Rule ID = 5 *

Rule 5 is Block and Log IP IN and OUT from IP [Any] to IP [Any] where IPPROTO is ANY

G’day,

The easiest way is to add a network monitor rule as follows;

Action : ALLOW
Protocol : ICMP
Direction : OUT
Source IP : ANY
Destination IP : ANY
ICMP Details : MESSAGE = HOST UNREACHABLE

When you add this rule, please nesure that it ends up ABOVE your current rule5 (the catch-all block rule). You should end up with six rules, with the catch-all being number 6.
