Or if you cannot reproduce it, what you actually did before it happened, step by step: 1: Sometimes after running a malware, and having it correctly sandboxed, there appears the green highlight around a window. However, there is no window. I have attached a picture to this post showing what this behavior looks like. 2: I was running more than one sample, and the highlighted frame seems to show the same for all sizes of samples that do not carry any window 7. What actually happened when you carried out these steps:
I ran a sample, and after running the sample shows a highlighted border, but the sample does not have any window to highlight it 8. What you expected to see or happen when you carried out these steps, and why (if not obvious):
If the sample does not have a window to highlight, no highlighted border should be shown.

That is very odd. Please create a video showing the exact steps you took to create this visual. Also, please keep track of the exact files you used to test this. Then, put those particular files in a zip file, upload it, and PM me the download link.

I’m not sure what is causing this. It could even be that the samples are creating a window, and hiding it from the users. That would explain the highlighted region. However, as I am not sure about this, I agree that it’s best to forward this to the devs for investigation. As you have already sent me the download link for the malware via PM, I can forward this to the devs if you agree that my changes are correct.

Developers may or may not communicate with you in the forum or by PM/IM, depending on time, availability, and need. Because you have supplied complete information they may be able to replicate and fix the bug without doing so.
The devs have not marked this as Fixed in the tracker. However, sometimes bugs are fixed by the release of new versions, but not marked as Fixed in the tracker.
If you are able please check with the newest version (CIS version 8.0.0.4337) and let me know if this is fixed on your computer with that version.
