So many versions of CFP v 3 has been released but I fail to understand why some easy to implement features are not being included. I am referring to the features many of which are already present in many other HIPS and probably these will not need a lot of new coding in CFP. Examples:
1- Locked/ Silent mode( Silently deny all actions execpet those allowed by rules)
2- Terminate option for any executable, via pop up
3- Hot Keys for different actions, like selecting different configurations, changing modes for Defence plus n FW
4- Change in tray icon color when FW or Defence Plus is inactive( disabled).
5- Auto-enable for Defence Plus after a specified period of time when it is disabled by user.
6- Right click context menue malware scan for individual files/ folders
etc etc
I hope Comdod develpers can implement some or all of such features as IMO these features might not taek a lot of coding but these might be very usefull, atleast for some of the users of CFP.
It is already there:
Set firewall to custom mode (safe mode should work too), set defense+ to safe or clean pc or paranoid mode, check option “block unknown requests if app is closed”, shutdown cfp icon in tray.
No CF is up and running without gui (cfp.exe) blocking unknown things silently.
“4- Change in tray icon color when FW or Defence Plus is inactive( disabled).”
This is something that needs to be addressed IMHO and has been expressed several times in the past.
I realized yesterday that D+ was disabled for 2 days. I disabled it and forgot that I did after a problem program install. Rebooted and got invovled in something else completely forgetting about the disable.
CFP has an annoying non-configurable reminder about install mode but is silent on a firewall or D+ disable. Why is that?
It seems to me that a disabled anything is as important as install mode.
Maybe the reason is gui set to start automatically with windows. On one of machines i disabled autostart of cfp.exe and did other steps i described. Silent mode is still there after reboot.
As for D+ i guess you are right. But if i’m right there is at least one way to set up silent mode for firewall when gui is up and running.
