[SOLVED] CMS crashing after the splash screen

Hi there!!!

After uninstalling, installing CMS again, when i click in the Comodo Mobile Security icon, the splash screen is showed, then the message “CMS has stopped working” (or similar, my phone is in Spanish)…

Tried several times uninstalling / installing it (from Play and from Comodo site), to no avail…

There are two crash reports in the forum, but i don’t have Lookout, and tried changing Wallpaper, with the same result…

Also, in Google Play, several users are saying the same thing (CMS crashing)…

In one instance, i did take a peek in the report generated by Android, and it said something like “value out of bound”, but i did not copy the exact error (and now i don’t see the report anywhere, sorry)…

What can i do?

Best regards!!!

Same thing happened on my phone today. After uninstalling CMS, I reinstalled CMS but; I got a message which says “CMS has stopped working”.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but everything seems to be working fine on my phone.
Have you tried clearing Cache and Dalvik?
Quite often this will resolve issues with apps.

Thank you John for your reply.

Tried clearing both caches, restarting, and the same crash occurs with CMS…

Regards!!!

Well, downloading the app from Google Play and executing it, gives the same error (crash after splash screen), but in this case, i can preview the error sent via the Comment Agent…

The stack trace begins like this:

java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity Componentinfo{com.comodo.pimsecure/com.comodo.pimsecure.ui.activity.DisclaimerActivity}: java.lang.IndexOutofBoundsException: setSpan(-1…9) starts before 0

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

Well the issue is solved (with a workaround)…

The problem is the Disclaimer when the Android Language is Spanish (Spain) (don’t know with other languages)…

When you install CMS, and open it, the application crash because it cannot display the Disclaimer correctly (educated guess)…

Workaround:

1 - Set the language of the android device to English (USA) via Settings, Language and Input, Language

2 - Open CMS (no need to reinstall). Pass the Disclaimer screen, and press Start using

3 - Go back to spanish, if you wish. Now all parts of CMS works!!!

Please help us spread the word, there are several users with this error!!

Thanks!!!

The Workaround worked on my phone too. Thank you.

Thank you very much… solved for me too.
