I have 6 b0018abcd.cav files that total 1.75 GB
In v5.12 there were two CAV files, one in /scanners & /repair
Do I need all these files?

No you only require the one bxxxxxxx.cav that is in use.
The others are obsolete and possibly happened during system restore or some other unknown issue.
Right click and delete each one, you will be alerted with “the action can’t be completed because the file in it is open in another program” when you find the one in use.
