Self Thinking Firewall

When you set a program up for COMODO to allow it full permission, why does it still block it? I have fought with closing and then reopening COMODO every time I need to upload a file using my built in FTP in my CoffeeCup HTML Editor (very convenient when it works) because COMODO corrupts the file when I upload it. I learned to live with that since I have not been able to fix it after seeking help here and with support. Now it has started blocking my WS FTP PRO without notification, permission or warning so now my other alternative is gone.

Do I even need this frustration? I mostly use a laptop on my home, wireless network. My desktop PC is hardwired, then I have a Router for my wireless laptop. Is that secure enough to not have to use a firewall? The only other place I mostly use my laptop is another wireless connection through a router.

Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim

There is a known problem with CFP2 & FTP… I cannot remember the exact details, but I think it’s something to do with passive connections. I believe you need to modify the Application Monitor (AM) rule for the FTP app to Skip Advanced Security Checks and/or Allow Invisible Connections. These options are under the Misc tab for the FTP applications AM rule.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I had an icey problem. (Oklahoma City)
I did all that and it did not fix the problem.
Thanks
