Scanning Problem

Salutations:

I have just installed CIS Premium, and when I try to scan it is very slow. The previous scan took 12+ hours before I manually restarted my PC. It also will not stop after a certain point in the scan. I have deactivated cloud scanning, and I am currently up to date. Please offer anything that you think might help.

PS: I am using Windows XP SP 3, and run no other security programs except Sandboxie, and Google Chrome.
