Scanning Pictures

Image formats are scanning which takes up a tremendous amount of scan time on my PC. .png’s and .jpg’s are safe, etc. so how can I stop Comodo from scanning specific file types? All I can find is a way to stop specific files or directories.

Antivirus → Scanner Settings → Exclusions.

Exclusions accept the asterisk (*) wildcard, so you can add just an extension to the list. The exclusion would look like, *.jpg.

You may however want to limit the exclusion to your scanning folder, as there have been malware exploits through images, so a system wide extension exclusion could be a security risk. Your path would look something like, C:\Documents and Settings\User\Scans*.png.
