That is strange. Please edit your first post so it is in the format provided here. Just copy and paste the code. Then replace the question marks with your responses.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

Please edit your first post. Also, if you have not already, please try reinstalling by following the advice given in this post and make sure that reinstalling by those methods is not able to fix this.

Thanks.

The frame seems to be only for virtualised programs. See Configure the Sandbox

Best I can do

More information pdf opened in browser result no VTRoot. Pdf reader opened from programs VTRoot appears.

Is the browser sandboxed as fully virtualized when you open the pdf reader through the browser?

No the browser is not sandboxed just sumatra

How is sumatra sandboxed? Did you create a rule for it to always be sandboxed? If not, then why do you think it should be sandboxed when the browser it is started from is not?

Thanks.

Okay. In that case this does seem like a bug to me. Please edit your first post so it is in the format provided here. I’m sorry, but the full format is required for bugs of this sort, as extra informaiton will be needed for reproduction on other machines.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

As I said I can’t get my head round the bug report format

Hi lyn and Chiron,
What browser are you using lyn?
Is it set to open using the plug-in or direct to the PDF program?

I have run 3 test which may or may not help, resetting the sandbox between each test to remove the VTRoot folder.
I used Comodo IceDragon for testing this.

Test 1.

  1. Add SumatraPDF.exe to the run in sandbox list.
  2. Open CID>Options>Applications>PDF-Use Sumatra PDF browser plug-in.
  3. Download and open a PDF within the browser and it is not sandboxed, confirmed by no VTRoot folder being created.

Test 2.

  1. Add SumatraPDF.exe to the run in sandbox list.
  2. Add plugin-container belonging to CID to run in the sandbox list.
  3. Open CID>Options>Applications>PDF-Use Sumatra PDF browser plug-in.
  4. Download and open a PDF within the browser and it is sandboxed or at least the plugin-container is, confirmed by VTRoot folder being created.
Note: No green border is present, but that maybe intended using a plugin within the browser.

Test 3.

  1. Add SumatraPDF.exe to the run in sandbox list.
  2. Open CID>Options>Applications>PDF-Use Sumatra PDF. Note: Not plugin.
  3. Download a PDF which now opens directly in Sumatra sandboxed, confirmed by the green border and VTRoot being created.

Hope that helps.

Hi opera, IE11 and dragon. If I also sandbox opera plugin wrapper then sumatra offers to view or save when opened a green border is displayed. I’ll post image shortly. Ps this also affects nitro pdf and settinga from partially ltd to FV.

Okay, I think this does seem to be a bug. Please format your first post so that it is in the format provided here. Once it is in that format, with the diagnostics report attached, I can forward this to the devs.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks.
