So, Melih appears here & says had a meeting & Razwan has done this & soon it will be here, blah, blah, blah…
Anyone attend CTM funeral? Heard it was a secret one.

Seeing a new version for CTM seems like a very unlikely scenario now.
Unlikely?
It’s dead…
Lets hope not. It has so much potential!
Any news?
I still enjoy CTM 2.8 on my brand new HP Monoblock.
I had to use other time machine on 2 new Lenovo notebooks as they use UEFI.
Does your HP run Windows 8.X?
Nope, Win-7.
Do you mean that CTM doesn’t go on Win-8?
Correct, CTM does not work on Windows 8. (Or at least Windows 8.1) I mean you can trick it into installing by using compatibility mode however it will not work correctly, or at least it didn’t for me when I tried it.
Edit: Sorry was thinking about CPM… :embarassed:
Thank you for warning. Then I install Win-8 only after next CTM release.
Sorry, I was thinking about CPM. I apologize for the confusion. :-[
I don’t think CTM is compatible with Windows 8 though.
OK, don’t worry.
I honestly don’t know but will try it over the next few weeks and let you know.
Really it troubles me. If you are doing this just to answer my question then please don’t do this. I don’t want to be the reason of something unpredictable on your PC.
I will be doing it for my own peace of mind.
As good as CIS is and as much as Comodo want to pin their hopes on Viruscope, there is one undeniable fact.
All security solutions that run under Windows are still vulnerable to any underlying weakness in the operating system. A structure can only be as solid as its foundations and, although Windows has improved dramatically, the OS itself is still the weakest link in Windows desktop security (along with apps running on it that promote or provoke vulnerabilites). After all, if the OS were secure, none of us would be here reading this.
CTM runs underneath Windows and provides a failsafe in the event of 1) operating system/app failure, 2) security software failure or 3) user stupidity.
I’ve said this to Melih on several occasions and I’ll keep saying it to anyone who cares to listen - CTM provides the surety, constancy, consistency and confidence that Windows itself cannot provide.
Cheers,
Ewen
Couldn’t have agreed more! Just having the option to go back just like that is just amazing and I for once would right now would need it as I have done some change that I am not aware.
Correct and well spoken.
Been out of the loop for a while, any news on CTM? and is there any alternatives? Fixed a few computers recently and every-time it becomes more obvious that a tool like CTM is needed.
Still no news but I keep hammering away at Melih.
yes he is
It looks like CTM is not abandoned …
