Sage Advice - backup your CIS profiles

Once you get half a brain around CIS configuration your FIRST lament should be: how to deal with re-installation?

A: export the confiigs for Anti-virus, Firewall & Defense+

You don’t even want to know how long it’ll take to figure out the old config. I will state this:

If you do this (re-create the CIS conig) several times, you’ll gain a much greater understanding of how one’s system operates than otherwise. Perhaps one doesn’t care to understand though.

Then one doesn’t need CIS. They only need to pay somebody foir recovery of that which can NOT be reovered and must be reaccomplished; if one has enough $'s, even that isn’t too high of a bar; they can pay somebody to do their own fornicating.

Back up CIS profiles at least monthly.

This is done in “more”, “manage my configurations”

Select each option displayed, in turn, and export to a “safe” place. When you need those configs you’ll be much happy.

I’ll say this much: If you’ve not received a SVCHOST alert w/in the last 3 weeks, and you’ve not backed up your CIS profile: youire a fool and can’t be helped.

When you ned to import: you select each in turn. When all profiles have been imported, select one and activate it.

Sure, one should backup if he does not want to write the settings again (altough it is not so hard).

But i don’t understand that:

I'll say this much: If you've not received a SVCHOST alert w/in the last 3 weeks, and you've not backed up your CIS profile: youire a fool and can't be helped.

Why should one have new alerts if not using new software and if proper rules already have been set?
