Running some applications gives a 'Run as' alert in XPpro [4.1.x.920 x32]

Problem: Running some applications [Edit: under an admin account] gives a ‘Runas’ alert in XP. THis OS does not usually give such alerts.

Steps to replicate

  • Instal Clickclean (a browser cleaner from as an add-on in Chrome
  • Start Chrome. Set it as a safe file in sandbox alert. Restart chrome.
  • Set it to clean the browser after each run
  • Do some browsing, close Chrome
  • You will get ‘Run as’ dialog
