Rules with host names that map to multiple IP addresses

The time.windows.com host name maps to two different IP addresses, 207.46.130.100 and 207.46.232.189. If I use this host name in a rule it resolves to “207.46.130.100 - 207.46.232.189”. Does this mean that all the addresses in between are also part of the rule now?

Hi, while I may not be “exact” on this, I believe the ports in between are dynamic and only accessed if needed by an application.

Does anyone have the “exact” answer? I have the same question, but different scenario - VPN. When I use my Host Name, it shows the range from the VPN IP Address to my Local IP Address.

For example: NAME: 142.x.x.x - 192.168.0.2

This would really help to increase usage of HostName and reduce my rules.
