Can you reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?:
Yes, every time I try to scan a network drive.
If you can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened: 1: Right click on the network drive and select Scan with Comodo Antivirus. 2: Scan goes for only 1 second and does not scan the folder and sub-folders. It’s clear that it doesn’t scan the folders as there is a piece of malware on the drive which is not detected during the scan, but which is detected if scanned by itself.
If not obvious, what you expected to happen:
I expected Comodo Antivirus to scan all sub-folders of the network drive.
If a software compatibility problem have you tried the conflict FAQ?:
NA
Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version:
Running a Full Scan does not scan the network drive either.

Thank you for reporting this issue. Please also create and attach a diagnostics report to your first post. If you are not sure how to do that please feel free to ask.
Also, I have a question. What makes you so sure that it is not scanning the folders and sub-folders? Did you try putting a detected file, such as the eicar file, inside one of those folders and make sure that it is not detected by the scan?
I tried to search for the diagnostic report you said but I didnt’t find anything. How can I do this ?
What makes me sure about comodo’s not scanning network drive is that it is impossible for an antivirus scanner to analyse 4 TB of data in 1 second, especially when I know there is infected files in this drive
The most important thing, at least for diagnostic purposes, is that you said there is an infected file on that drive. To make absolutely sure, does CIS detect that file if scanned manually?
As for the diagnostics report, to create that open the main CIS GUI. Then click on the question-mark icon. This will have a spot for Support. Inside that select Diagnostics.
Thank you. I have made some small changes to the first post and the title. Let me know if everything seems correct.
By the way, you mention that right-clicking on the network drive and selecting to scan it does not work correctly. What happens if you run a Full Scan? Does that correctly scan the network drive?
Thank you very much for your report in standard format, with all information supplied. The care you have taken is much appreciated by Comodo, and will increase the likelihood that this bug can be fixed.
Developers may or may not communicate with you in the forum or by PM/IM, depending on time, availability, and need. Because you have supplied complete information they may be able to replicate and fix the bug without doing so.
I’d just like to confirm this bug.
I have a newly installed windows 7 SP1 (x86-64), without any other software, except an Intel ethernet driver.
After installing CIS 7.0.317799.4142 I tried to scan a network drive, but it does nothing.
In CIS Task log I found a new row: “Antivirus scan”, “path to the folder on the network drive”, “date of completion” “Scanned: 0”, “Found: 0”.
But there are more than 10000 files…
I’m not sure if it is important: my machine is a Dell Latitude notebook.
But an interesting thing: booting in safe mode with networking, I can scan drive mapped from another machine!
(In windows event log I can’t find any related entries)
The devs have not marked this as Fixed in the tracker. However, sometimes bugs are fixed by the release of new versions, but not marked as Fixed in the tracker.
If you are able please check with the newest version (CIS version 8.0.0.4337) and let me know if this is fixed on your computer with that version.
I have the same problem with the newest version 8.0.0.4337.
COMODO won’t scan any network folder / mapped drive etc.
Scans only single files or group of files if I select couple of them.
I’ve bypassed this problem with windows search. I’ve searched . and selected all files and then right clicked Scan with COMODO, and it worked 3500 files scanned

If you are able please check with the newest version (CIS version 8.1.0.4426) and let me know if this is fixed on your computer with that version.
Fixed in 8.2.0.4703. I installed CIS in a VM and attached a network drive within the VM and was able to right-click on network drive in My computer and CIS was able to detect the EICAR test file that was on the mapped network drive.
