[Resolved]facebook problem

Hey everyone

Just installed Comodo and this morning, went into my browser (Chrome) and home page opened up normally (Google).

I clicked on facebook tab and it’s not loading… it’s just hanging. All other websites load as normal by the way :slight_smile:

After a few minutes, my browser tells me that it’s not loading i.e
'The webpage at http://www.facebook.com/home.php might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Now on my laptop which is also connected to the same modem, facebook loads as normal. I don’t have Comodo installed on that laptop.

What’s going on?

1; What version of CIS do you have installed? (CIS > More > About)

Sorry about it being in the wrong forum…

I have version 5.0.163652.1142

I just downloaded a new version last night, so I am assuming it’s the latest.

For the record, I haven’t fiddled with any settings, just allowed my normal apps etc through as instructed.

I just can’t get into facebook. Weird.

No Worries about the whole ‘post in wrong forum’ Its ok

Did you enable SecureDNS? through install?

And you can access other sites except for Facebook.com?

I can access all other websites, gmail, youtube etc…

Just not facebook.

As for secure dns sites, not sure.

Can I remedy this in comodo settings somehow?

Can you go to command prompt
(Start > Programs > Acc > (If in vista right click run as admin) Command Prompt
type in the following
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
cls
then type in
ping www.facebook.com

you should get a result that looks like this
69.63.189.11: bytes=32 time=100ms TTL=239

bloody hell…

did that and it works beautifully, facebook opened straight away

I have magic fingers! :smiley: :smiley: Just kidding;

Its most likely; that your current ISP’s DNS was still’ cached and so we cleared it and The fresh cache was made with SecureDNS entries…
