Renew (repair) IP address, won't

For some reason, (ver. 3.8.6xxxx) it will not allow my computer to renew it’s IP address to the router.
It says (firewall event log) it is blocking UDP from SVCHOST on IP address (varies) to IP address 255.255.255.255 Source Port 68, destination port 67. If I disable the firewall, it runs just fine. Does not seem to work on either Safe or Training mode.

I set a rule on SVCHOST to allow Any IP address to ANY IP address, with those source and destination ports, for UDP, but it still doesn’t work. No other messages can be seen in the firewall events log.

What am I doing wrong?

NOTE - My old DLINK (11g) router crashed and burned, and I replaced it with a NETLINK router (N+). Since then the IP renew has required this firewall disable. I do not know if that has anything to do with it, but thought I would mention it just in case.

Hello FoFo, This may help https://forums.comodo.com/firewall_faq/no_network_connection_after_using_stealth_ports_wizard_dhcp_broken-t41463.0.html;msg300650#msg300650

Thanks.
It does seem to enabled.

Can you show me a screenshot of your Global Rules? They can be found under Firewall → Advanced → Network Security Policy.

Check your properties setting of your network card driver to ensure that your speed/duplex setting is (full) autonegotiation. A line speed mismatch btw the router and the nic will cause DHCP to fail. I say this because your problems started after you replaced the router.

Also check your NetBIOS settings under the WINS tab in TCP/IP properties assuming your are running XP. If it is set to “default” change it to “NetBIOS over TCP/IP”. Routers don’t always recognize what OS they are negotiating with.
