is possible to remove the parent application control ?

all days i obtain this
“the cryptographic signature of parent application …”
(when i upgrade the softwares)

and other question…

I have not checked well but, I have the impression that CPF often refers the same questions.

Hi ,not sure if this answers your question, but it is possible to skip parent checks.Maybe someone else can answer better, but I believe CPF will will tell you if the sig of the appl changes regardless of setting. Hope this helps.

I am not certain whether there is or isn’t a way to remove the parent check… I think a better approach would be to have a flag on the rule that would allow the user (like you an me) say “I update this application alot, so skip the CRC check”.

“Skip parent” does not do what you are looking for. Skip parent would let Any application use/hijak the application that had this checked off.

Sometimes the application rules do look similar, but very often there are subtle differences… depending on the version you are using and the verbosity level… I wouls expect you might be seeing messages like:

  • “Application X is trying to use TCP to communicate Inbound
  • “Application X is trying to use UDP to communicate Inbound
  • “Application X is trying to use TCP to communicate Outbound
  • “Application X is trying to use UDP to communicate Outbound

Each one of these is different and result in you being prompted each time.
