Remote Access

Here’s the scenario -

Our in-house accountant wants to have some form of remote access during the summer months (and in general), and I’m trying to figure out what the best means might be.

We have several different organizations operating here, and we share a single internet access point (ie, server & router) over which I have no control. Thus, I’m thinking that something like the built-in Remote Desktop is not a viable solution, and am looking at what other options might be available.

Thus far, I have focused on things like Gotomypc, etc. Not sure what all options are available that way, nor what works best for security, ease of use, reliability. I know Comodo has an entry in this field, but I can’t propose a non-production solution for a production environment, unfortunately. ;(

So, for those of you who use such things, what are the available options, what works best, etc etc.

Tnx,

LM

Hey LM,

The best I’ve come across is ;). Several versions are available, but the basic free version does enough to satisfy most peoples needs. Comodo’s UserAnywhere, while still a beta, looks promising, but … a beta/production cocktail is not a mix I’d sip.

Cheers,

Um , I hate to be a twink (just for you, Ewen…) but what do you mean by

Tnx,

LM

It’s not a twink, mac. It’s called a wink ;D

Sorry. It should say http://www.logmein.com instead of ;). Dunno what I was thinking (or typing) with that one!
