Re:OT posts from BluePoint Security 2010

Steiner, I am happy to see that you take your time to search for different security software. I recommend you to make a thread where you update that list of yours.

What do you want when you make such threads, comments, opinion or what ( sorry if I sound rude; I don’t mean to sound rude)? I made a mistake once I answered on Coranti AV; Two other members began to attack me for no reason and the thread became out of controll and the comments became emotional and offtopic.

Thanks for understanding.

Valentin N

To talk or comment on other products is most certainly ok, but to post a link to other products without some form of comment to go with it would be regarded as a form of spam. Thanks

ok,
I understand it.
you’re right.
please excuse me.
It will not happen again.
otherwise erase the thread.

jens

I have sent you a PM. But I hope you understand that I don’t want to attack you or anything like that. So make a comment when you such threads.

Take care

Valentin N

Valentin cannot erase the thread because he is not a moderator. I think you can though as topic starter. It is not the moderators habit to delete posts or topics or accounts.

As a moderator I advice against Valentin’s suggestion to keep your inquiries into various security products in one topic. Having a discussion about various topics in one topic will cause a guaranteed confusion. Please make a topic for every product you investigate or are interested in or when appropriate reply in an existing topic.

If he just wanted to list all the security products he could find, I think it would be nice to have it in one thread. If his goal was to have a discussion for each, then I like the mods’ idea.

I find it strange when someone makes thread with a link and no comment which is why I suggest that he should have a thread where updates that list of other security software. I didn’t make that suggestion just to make one.

Thanks for understand

I took it as an invitation for discussion. I see nothing wrong with that.

I see it as sort of spamming/making commercial. That’s my opinion. I don’t mind talking about other security suits but to create a thread with the title of name of the product and then no comment, is… yea… strange… and it also makes you wonder what this person what’s.

The OP made a post in the appropriate area.

It is an open invitation for comment, opinion and discussion.
Whether or not you feel it is worthy, is not the subject and
definitely gives you no license to Hijack the thread, Valentin.

It would be nice if he added comments, but I presume he was asking for comments to see if it was worth trying.

It is the correct board for these type of Topics.

Dennis

Then I am sorry if I gave the feeling that I am Hijacking this thread; It’s not my intention too. But I hope you understand my view and my arguments.

I wish you a nice day

Some kind of starting comment would have made for less confusion. Sorry to you all , but I agree with Valentins comments. Kind regards.

LOL I split the OT posts and it’s longer than the real thread.

Carry on here if you need to belabor your point against 5 or more Mods.

Thanks.

This is how I feel too. If you are going to be the OP and the “thread owner”, you should at least try to make some effort at it. A opening post consisting entirely of one link is kind of saying, “I’m to lazy/in a hurry to give my comments or thoughts, or even a question. Just start the conversation yourself.” :stuck_out_tongue:

No offense against the OP, of course. It isn’t something terrible. The only reason I said something is because BF invited us to. :stuck_out_tongue:

I did exacly the same thing as the opener to this thread did and look at the attached pic.

-sigh-

I must agree with Valentin on this;

Reason; OP is on the fence whether to be inside the forum policy or break the boundries of the policy ; reason i say this is because by the year of 2020 OP Would have posted over 1000+ threads with only hyperlinks; I would recommend OP to make list and keep modifiing his list to add more thus only have one topic and discussions can be taken inside that topic with different subject OR Actually comment/ask about another security product?

Current Policy

“Note that informed discussion about Comodo and competitor offerings or any related hardware, software or services is welcome and encouraged in these forums”

Hence the word “informed discussion”

Hope all is well :-La
