I frequently use the block all command by right clicking the icon in tray and set the firewall security level to block all. But often after using this command, and then returning to safe mode level, I will lose my internet for a fair period of time - usually from 2-5min. I am not sure what is causing this, but I speculate (based on nothing, so this could be entirely wrong) that Windows is not looking for an internet connection. I am not sure if this is it, but I am wondering how I can recover faster from this downtime after using the block all command. This happens most frequently after using the block all command for several hours.
You could open a command prompt and run the command “ipconfig /renew” . This should re-establish the TCP/IP connection on all network adapters. In other words grab an address via DHCP.
Try it and let us know if it helps,
