no I didn’t drop it, I think it is still a great suite for the price, I just want to see what MS releases, if I can get away with a free suite why not, right?
All I am saying is that MS is amazing right now and how they are getting all of these detections on zero day malware up so fast. They must have really put some work into MSE from what I can tell. I am giving MSE a work out right now with Comodo firewall/D+ to back it up in case it misses anything, but so far it has been top notch.
Hope your not being Subjective Ewen.

This was In the general board\discussions until ganda moved it so by that it was implying that it was going to be up for discussion
there is nothing wrong with praising multiple companies. It’s like, I like different cars not just one type. Also yes both should be praised. gdata has put together the most affordable suite that works great and is also great for novice users because there is really no input needed unless it finds something. MS deserves praise because they have proven that for now they are serious about getting into the free security market and MSE is a step in that direction. Remember who for the top spot in AV-comparatives, (and no, it was not avira), it was MS, ESET and kaspersky mainly because they also didn’t identify every file under the sun as malware, so low FP are something that should count.
Apparently Kaspersky is not immune to FP wheneve clean samples sorting/selection criteria and scoring criteria may provide different results…
The anti-virus software testing group AV-Comparatives gave the Windows XP version of Kaspersky AV an "Advanced+" rating (its highest) in both its February 2008 on-demand detection test (with the fourth highest detection rate among 16 products tested)[5] However, in the Retrospective/Proactive Test May 2008, Kaspersky received the "Standard" rating, detecting 21% of new malware with 1-month old signatures and receiving a substantial amount of false positives
As it looks like Kaspersky don’t have a FP specific board as well searching thir forums may provide additional info as well…
As for the “Intelliget” Signatures as I’ve said before… It’s quite obvious that they are of a higher quality, because there are less of them and they are more effective.
Adding “obvious” to each thing you write don’t adds up whereas you have neglected each request to clarify further on the implicit premises of your streamlined posts…
Though it looks like you are trying to address all variant aspects with one “definition”.
Pretty much “optimized” approach isn’t it? Whenever you are not an AV. :-\
