PSW-LDPINCH.SBI variant stopped by BOClean - right after AntiVir free install

March 11, 2008

Good day to all!
The title explains itself - what does this mean? A false positive?
I attached a screenshot, please verify.
Thank you in advance.

Greetings!

Upload it to VirusTotal and see if it’s detected by some of the AV’s.
If it’s downloaded from a trustworthy source (like Avira’s site), it’s most likely not a malware.

Cheers,
Ragwing

good day!
actually this WAS my first option, but as you can see the file is too big - 16.9MB and WAS downloaded from antivir free official website ( http://www.free-av.com/download/redirect.php?id_prd=1&id_cnt=999&id_por=5&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.download.com%2FAvira-AntiVir-PersonalEdition-Classic%2F3000-2239_4-10322935.html%3Fpart%3Ddl-10322935%26subj%3Ddl%26tag%3Dbutton )
also, as you have said “…If it’s downloaded from a trustworthy source (like Avira’s site), it’s most likely not a malware.” - if it is not a malware why did COMODO BOCLEAN detected it as a “PSW-LDPINCH.SBI VARIANT STOPPED BY BOCLEAN”?
is it only me experiencing this problem?

please see this thread how I had install antivir free without detection of boclean.
just a question, is the file really a “PSW-LDPINCH.SBI VARIANT STOPPED BY BOCLEAN”?
or is it a false positive?
any clarifications?
thank you
