Protect Mozilla registry keys

Hello,
is it possible to protect mozilla firefox important registry keys (just like default IE keys) ?
Which keys would you protect ?
Will it be a problem when i’ll have to update firefox ?

Thx (R)

I would protect the following:

HKLM\Software\Mozilla
HKLM\Software\mozilla.org
HKLM\Software\MozillaPlugins

And more important protect your Mozilla files !
These contain you password db, your history db proxy config etc…

For vista that would be

c:\users{username}\AppData\Local\Mozilla*
c:\users{username}\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla*

For other versions take a look here.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

You have to give the updater the right to change protected folders (or create specific rules that allow to write to the “protected” folders / keys).
