Running Win X/P, Did a clean install of the latest CIS 6.2 and had problems with system freezing. Froze up 3 times. Each time had to do a hard shutdown(push the on/off button). I was configured to proactive with no modifications. Is anyone else having this problem??? Before I installed CIS I uninstalled EMS security suite using Revo uninstaller… There was nothing leftover from EMS… I’m currently back with EMS and have no problems. I truly would like to have CIS for my security but not under these conditions.
Was it freezing under default Internet Security configuration?
Can’t say that it did or it would. I switched to pro active after the install… What’s the diference between the two? In the past I always ran with pro active…
What were the changes you made to the Proactive Security configuration? Did you change to Paranoid mode?
Made no changes… And no, did not run Paranoid mode. Never ran Paranoid mode even with previous releases.
Please make sure there are no leftovers of security programs you had installed in the past. A possible left over can cause all sort of “strange effects”. Please run clean up tools for all security programs you had in the past. A list can be found here at the Eset website: ESET Knowledgebase .
Did the above make a difference?
I used and use revo for my uninstalls. And it does and did get rid of all traces including reg entries. I’ve gone into the regestry to double check and there is nothing there for EMS…
