problem with utorrent

ok i am not getting a green light in utorrent when comodo is running, i have made a rule in both network and application monitor sections, moved it above the block and log rule, still cant get it right, when comodo is closed or i set it to allow all it works…
can someone please help or steer me in the right direction, i have been at this for too long.
thanks a lot…

how your rules look like and what is your uT settings ?

if there is only particular port for incoming connections, set for uT in comodo,
be sure there is set the same nonrandom port in uTorrent.

double chack both application ( udp + tcp ) and network rules

I had never a problem with uT with either Kerio PF or comodo FW 2.4,
even behind forwarded home router.

non random port, its set on 51011, unpnp port mapping is unchecked, nat-pmp port mapping is checked(tryed unchecked), add to windows firewall exceptions is checked (win firewall disabled anyway), comodo rule is action: allow protocol: TCP or UDP direction: in, Source ip and destination ip are set to any, source and destination port is set to a single port :51011 and i moved the rule up past the “block and log rule”(ID6) so its ID1

supposing allowing incoming port in bott application and network layer…
did you try skip advanced security features in miscxelaneous tab ?
or allowing invisible connections ?

yes also tried that

Hmmmm
I would temporary set network rule all udp/tcp in allowed
delete all app rules for utorrent
either set it as trusted app, or let comodo to ask for rule ( try both )
look at components if there is something blocked
temporary disable all advanced features…

in other words, keep custom, but in beginnings keep settings
like it was all allowed, and step by step set rules/settings back

but you have to know, I am experienced with utorrent/p2p programs
with FWs in general, but quite rookie in comodo

there are also huge utorrent threads in forum, nothing from them applies ?

ok i have found the problem
its the block and log rule that was already set it comodo network monitor, when is set it to allow it works. Block and log IP in and out at any source, destination and ip protocol.

Can i set this to allow?

temporary you can, but it is similar like switching all network layer off

appearantly your network rules missed utorrent needs, these than falls into “block all not mentioned”.
nothing interesting in logs ?

actually yes, i have saved the log as html and here is one violation, there are heaps of these happening all the time, the funny thing is its happening now, and utorrent isn’t even running… everything is the same except the source (IP and port) the rest is the same. 51011 is the port for utorrent. Any ideas?

Date/Time :2008-03-24 03:20:47
Severity :Medium
Reporter :Network Monitor
Description: Inbound Policy Violation (Access Denied, IP = 200.105.158.19, Port = 51011)
Protocol: UDP Incoming
Source: 200.105.158.19:48864
Destination: 192.168.1.2:51011
Reason: Network Control Rule ID = 6

do you think maybe there is a port conflict?

nope i have also tried changing the port…
and now the log is saying the same thing on the changed port…

ok i have found the problem, the utorrent rule had the specific ‘source port’ set, so i set it to ‘any’ and now it works, is this ok to leave permanently?

yes, this is mandatory.
you cannot know what source port is used at remote computers,
so source port for incoming connections need to be set as any

thanks for your help…

you’re welcome.
