Problem with GRC test

When I have my router’s firewall on all ports are green, TruStealth test past. When I turn it off and test CPF on it’s own I get a failed message, only one port (0) is stealthed the rest are blue:

Results from scan of ports: 0-1055 
0 Ports Open

1055 Ports Closed
1 Ports Stealth

1056 Ports Tested

NO PORTS were found to be OPEN.

The port found to be STEALTH was: 0

Other than what is listed above, all ports are CLOSED.

TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH,
- NO unsolicited packets were received,
- A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

Whats going on?

Hi,

This because, as you are behind a router, it is this that is being tested not CPF. These are the correct results.

Oh rite I see. If I had a direct net connection cpf would be green.

because i have a problem with my router firewall, it can make downloads/web pages timeout, does it still provide protection? Even if it didn’t cpf would?

CPF would be green with a direct connection, yes. If you’ve configured your routers firewall to stealth all ports, etc it will protect you fine. About the time out issue it is something you should contact the manufacturer if it’s repeatedly happening.

i think its about time i brought a new router, its been switched on for just over 2 years lol.
