Problem with CRC.EXE

Prior to installing version 1.1.64945.37 I could run a scan without problems.

Now, each time I try to complete a scan now it halts with them message, “COMODO Registry Clearner has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”

When I click for more information I see, “Error signature, AppName: crc.exe, AppVer: 1.1.64945.37, ModName: kernel32.dll, ModVer: 5.1.2600.3119 Offset: 000f4c41”

How can I get past this issue?

go to the misc tab and check for updates, also make sure you are connected to the net when running the program. I have the same error unless I am connected to the net.

Hi, this is a known issue expected to be fixed in the next version. (I don’t have the expected release date)

Thanks, Languy99, for the advice. I am virtually always connected to the net, so that is not an issue.

Thanks also to Layman for letting me know this was a known issue. I just hope there is a new version with a fix before long.

I checked for updates. Found one (to 1.1.64946.38), downloaded, ran Comodo Registry Cleaner, and got the same program stop a few seconds into the scan. Whatever changed in this new release, it did not solve the problem. :frowning:

Try a clean install of .38.


We are not aware of such an error, but as EricJH said, a clean install of Comodo System Cleaner 38 should fix the problem. But first please uninstall your current version.

I have done an uninstall, followed by a reboot, followed by a clean install…twice. To no avail.


Did you download and ran a fresh install of CSC 37 or CSC 38 ? Here is the link to CSC 38 :
