Printer not working from browser all of a sudden?

This may be a stupid question but I don’t really know what’s wrong here. All of a sudden my printer won’t print from my browser (firefox) . when I go to print it says I first need to install a printer. When I select yes, it tells me I can’t because the 'print spooler service isn’t running.

I’m sure the firewall is somehow blocking it but I don’t know how to unblock. I looked in all of the categories and can’t find anything that’s blocked. In any case it had been working fine and I don’t know why it doesn’t work now. It prints fine from local documents and - interestingly enough - from I.E. It’s just firefox that it won’t print from.

thanks

Hi Ezar

Welcome to the Comodo Forums

Have you set Firefox as a browser in your Network Security Policy Application Rules? Have you checked your services to see if Print Spooler is running and automatic?

John

Hi John:

Unfortunately I don’t know what any of that means. I just know the printer worked and now it doesn’t. I installed this because it’s supposed to be pretty simple to use without being an advanced user.

Assuming you have Defense + installed set it to ‘learning mode.’ Then try to print.
