Predefined Firewall Policy for Utorrent

I set this up for Utorrent as per this page:

So I got the predefined policy set up . My first question is how do I get comodo to associate it with utorrent because I am not getting a 'pop-up alert" (Because I probably previously got the alert and just defined it as a safe application.)

There must be an option in Comodo somewhere to associate the program utorrent with the policy I just set up.

Also The rules for utorrent on the above page seems to be repeated twice - I assume that is a mistake?

Also on that page “Port: The port of BitTorrent/Utorrent” Does this mean port 80 (utorrent’s port) or my user port I set up (example: 27145)?

Previously I used the rules on this page - are they no longer applicable for Comodo CIS 5.12?

https://forums.comodo.com/firewall-help-cis/utorrent-problems-t70329.0.html;msg500592#msg500592

What all this is about is my port is suddenly not open (I don’t know when) after years of using Comodo and utorrent and same modem and moden isp telus firewall set us properly etc.

Oh I read the FAQ and set up the new global rule for MAC address.

Thanks iff anyone can help…

You can add a rule for uTorrent under Application Rules. Click at the arrow at the bottom that is pointing up and go from Add.

It means the port you set up (example 27145).

Nothing has changed so the rules should apply

When did the problem start? What happens when you disable the firewall temporarily? What FAQ are you referring to here?

Edit:
Thanks for the response: There is additional information here. There can be endless amounts of info - I centered on the significant info.

I found out I can add the custom policy if I edit application in the “network security policy”.

====================================>

The rules on that page are different from the rules on the FAQ page (Predefined Firewall Policy).

This FAQ:

It’s different than the rule son the page I referenced.

I don’t know when the problem started , because download and upload still happens when the port is not open though it is not as effective and some torrents appear dead though they may not be.

Yeah I disabled Comodo firewall, and closed the app but I can’t trust anything about Comodo is stopped when I ask because I often found out it is still working even when I close the application - even if I uninstall I am not sure if it is “uninstalled” - for instance it resets the DSN setting which u have to manually set back.

I have set my port forwarding many times on my “2700HG-E Gateway 2wire” changed computers about 3 times and reset the rules etc .

But this is the first time I added UDP to the exception though I have never did that before (just added it because I noticed the PFP port checker said UDP was not open. when I tried the UDP test

It seems it should be added? Correct??
Anyway I added it right now and PFPortchecker says UDP is open now - though I never did that before and utorrent never reported a problem before because of it.

IE

Definition List Protocol Port (or Range) Host Port Timeout (sec)

TCP (My port#) (My port#) 86400
UDP (My port#) (My port#) 600

Anyway that didn’t solve the problem.

------------------------->

I found windows 7 firewall was blocking my port even though there was an exception for that - I fixed that - but the results still show that Utorrent Setup guide reports port not open though PF port checker says port (UDP and TCP is open) .also a check from a torrent website says port is not open.

Is there any other port checker utility that I can use as a third/forth test -please not another utility with invasive adware/spyware like PF portchecker - took me a long time to get rid of their ad-spyware nasty stuff.

That probably doesn’t matter - port is open for PFportchecker - so is open for other apps - but utorrent reports when using utorrent - port is not open - maybe some setting in utorrent is not right or in Comodo?.

Also , now the private torrent site reports my port is open in their port checker page - only Utorrent doesn’t know this.!!??

Edit: Either the port is right and utorrent is not reporting it correctly in “setup guide” or Comodo is still blocking the port for the application.

Update 2: Just reading the UTorrent forums - there is a high likelihood the setup guide in Utorrent to test the ports is broken though no one official will admit it nor will any spokesperson say so - but many users say so and seem to be certain.

So case closed for that leave it for a year or two and see if anyone has a final result - though the question still remains- which setup for utorrent in Comodo is the correct one - the one in the FAQ or the one in the thread I referenced …or both?

So I got both sets of rules (one from the old thread, the other from the FAQ set up as Predefined policies )- setting to either one of them for utorrent 3.1 doesn’t fix.
