Awil just released a pre-release version of the next Avast! update (now 4.8.1256) :slight_smile:

As we all know Awil pre-releases are always very stable, so give it a try :wink:

Installed and running. Seemed to have a hangup on first reboot, but did a second reboot and all seems fine.

Build 4.8.1263 released. We managed to fix all major bugs with Alwil guys. This is going to be a very nice evolution in protection when it goes final ;D

Congrats to Alwil team and you Avast! beta testers :-TU I’m waiting for Avast! 5 :wink:

Could be a long wait, but Avast! runs nicely with CFP and when CIS is out of Beta I’ll still use Avast! as I reckon that CIS’ AV will need a year or two to settle down.

avast! 5 is planned for first half of the 2009. There might be another 4.8 upgrade in between (plus this one coming very soon). Nothing official though for the 4.8 updates…

Yeah, I guess Avast! doesn’t update as fast as CIS does. (:LGH)

well, most of the CIS updates right now are bug fixes. avast v4.8 has been out for a while now
