Mr. Melih,
This is a showstopper for me.
IF I as a game server, cannot kick out Hacks who enter my game,
from your firewall then i simply cannot use it.
In COMODO,
there is a “Connections Window”
and, intuitively, I should be able to right click on ANY ENTRY THERE,
and be able to …do…SOMETHING?
As it stand now I canot do ANYTHING in that window?
I should be able to right click on an entry and BLOCK, CLOSE,
BAN FOR A TIME PERIOD, ( like black ice does)
I Sir, am at my wits end.
I come to YOU as a member of the Gaming Community,
and as a website owner and admin, for a game that i so love .
gamingpix4.com is my site, sir,
just to prove to you, sir that I am indeed a credible person in the Gaming World.
( please forgive my shoddy typing skills, I am 43 years old, Sir, and Male. fyi)
This is my post mirrored from the RC5 thread.
I am posting it here, to wake someone up. hopefully…if not Sayonara, Comodo!
here it is:
RC5!
Ok! Lets have a go at Steve Gibson’s Shields Up site,
and lets run the ALL SERVICE PORTS TEST:
GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2007-01-17 at 04:56:26
Results from scan of ports: 0-1055
0 Ports Open
0 Ports Closed
1056 Ports Stealth
1056 Ports Tested
ALL PORTS tested were found to be: STEALTH.
TruStealth: PASSED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH,
- NO unsolicited packets were received,
- NO Ping reply (ICMP Echo) was received.
OK! Kikass!
Now lets run the CPIL TESTS provided on the Comodo Homepage:
Test 1: Pops up a Comodo permission box. Awesome! Click DENY!
Test 2: Pops up a Comodo permission box. Awesome! Click DENY!
Test 3: Pops up a Comodo permission box. Awesome! Click DENY!
The ONLY problem I have with this, and once again IM a GAMER!
IS…in the CONNECTIONS WINDOW…
I cannot click on an entry there and disconnect that party from my PC.
THIS IS CRUCIAL!
I served UT2004 other day,
and the admin server window provided to me by the game,
told me I had a potential SPEED HACKER!
OK, EASY ENOUGH I TOLD MYSELF…
I opened up Comodo user interface only to BE HORRIFIED! :o
I COULD NOT KILL HIS CONNECTION!
wtf good is there in using this, if i cant kick some ******* out of my pc?
edit: oh! before i killed the game,
i DID make an IP RULE for his IP, and shoved it to the top AS THE 1ST ENTRY.
it didnt kick him.
next game, he was still there.
I even turned off comodo and restarted it.
fook me.
Score one for the HACKERS!
ARGH! ! [ at ] #$%^&* I HAD TO SHUT DOWN THE GAME! (:AGY)
…and i dont know jack about dos windows or command lines.
if i canot INSTANTLY kill SOMETHING I WANT GONE, then what good is Comodo?
I remember in an earlier version
there was a CLOSE button ?
WHERE DID THAT GO?
ILL STAND HERE AND SAY THIS TILL THE COWS COME HOME !
That button is my lifeline as a game server admin.
I VOTE FOR IT’S RETURN!
now… can ANYONE help me on how to kill a connection when I want it GONE?
not when COMODO thinks it should be blocked .
but as the USER, I am. in. control.
Comodo took that away from me by removing that CLOSE CONNECTION button.
I. VOTE. FOR. IT’S. RETURN!
PLEASE!.. how do i do this? drop me a link or jot down some handy dandy 1,2,3 method.
Thank you!
this is the only issue i have .
Slippster (B) (L) (R)
APACHE could you possibly have a solution for me, please, sir?
I’d be forever in your debt! (:AGL) :■■■■
Its now…starting to dawn on me…
“fuuksake this is a firewall!” I’m teling myself…
I dont need a workaround solution…
I need a new FireWall! *slaps forehead
If the Comodo Devs tell me that the CLOSE THIS CONNECTION feature
will be somehow worked into the FINAL RELEASE, ill stick with COMODO.
If not, then Sayonara! Its been fun! Thanks for all the fish!
Comodo FAILS the MOST IMPORTANT USER FEATURE…COMPREHENSIVE CONTROL!
I am going to mirror this content in the FEATURES ID LIKE TO SEE forum section?
Which forum section should I paste this post into?
or is THIS post enough to GET my message across?
I get the distinct impression I [and others here]
am being steamrollered
and my comments have no effect, and Comodo will be released as SOMETHING I CANNOT USE.
Im putting Comodo on Notice. AS A USER, THIS feature IS THE WHOLE BALL GAME
if i cant kill connections i want gone then Comodo is USELESS!
have i gotten my point across yet?
