Permissions Help When Installing?

Hello: I have the latest version of comodo! This has happened alot lately. I installed “Unlocker” yesterday and the asking of permissions would
not stop, no matter what I set it too, like Trusted site, Update and install, Isolated install etc. it did not matter, I kept getting screen after screen for permissions!
How can I stop this from happening? Thanks

Can you show us screenshots of those alerts?

I dont see how, are they stored in comodo? Thanks

Here is what I want you to do. First delete the D+ rule for Unlocker. Second do whatever is needed to get D+ alerts about Unlocker and make it a Trusted Application. Then see if the spree happens again. Give it the permissions it needs step by step but don’t let it remember anything.

Now give a new assignment to Unlocker and record the first three alerts for now. When you don’t know how to post a screenshot please read the following.

How to post a screenshot?

To copy a screenshot of the active window push alt+print screen to copy the active window to the clipboard (pushing print screen will copy the complete window to the clipboard not just the active window). The window is now copied to the clipboard. Paste the image in any image editing program, Paint, Paint.net, the Gimp etc, and save the file as 32 bits png image.

At the forum push the reply button. Or when using the Quick reply type some text and push the preview button.

Underneath the text box click on Additional options. Push the Choose button and navigate to the file and select it. When you want to post more images click on the more attachments link.

When done typing push the Post or Preview button.

ok, I am not understanding you completely here, you said>>
First delete the D+ rule for Unlocker.
How do I do that?
Also, it is installed now but I remember making it a Trusted Application when I was having trouble
with all the comodo pop ups and it did not make a difference the pop ups kept coming

Attachments (screen shots) are no problem

The D+ rules for programs can be found under Defense + → Advanced → Computer Security Policy. The reason I ask to delete the rule is to start with a clean slate for testing.

Ok, but I wont have to uninstall and reinstall Unlocker will I?

You don’t need to uninstall or reinstall Unlocker. Just delete the D+ rule so we can start testing with a clean slate. I want to see the alerts that are coming up.

Ok, I removed it, now what can I do to get it to start asking permissions again?

Just look in the above: https://forums.comodo.com/firewall_help/permissions_help_when_installing-t46234.0.html;msg333582#msg333582 .

Ok, now, You said>>>>Now give a new assignment to Unlocker and record the first three alerts for now.
How do I give a New Assignment to unlocker? Thanks

I meant give Unlocker a task. That should give alert(s) by D+ and those alerts may help us further.

In looking at the Read Me file on Unlocker, the option to use it can only be on a locked file of folder
and I can’t seem to find one now. I guess I will have to get back to you when I have one. Unless I uninstall it and reinstall to get the permission signs up again or unless you have another idea? Thanks

Ok, Now I just got asked to let “hpwucli.exe” on my pc and at first I gave it permission because its got something to do with hp client update.
But after I gave it permission on the first two, it would not stop asking for permission. So I tried to block it and told it to remember it, but it kept coming up again and again until I gave it permission again
It seems Comodo does NOT block things when you ask it too. It just keeps asking until you give permission to what ever .exe or whatever wants to come into the pc.
Why wont Comodo block when I tell it too? Anyone?

Is this a D+ alert?

Im not sure, i never knew to look to see, they came up so fast and all I was looking at, at the time
was the name of the .exe. I Then went to Process libriary to find out what the app. was, unless you have any other idea’s, I will note the next time this happens to see if it is a D+ alert and get back to you, Thanks
